Customer Rating: Summary: A great tool for calculus and physics Comment: This is an excellent tool for anyone taking upper level math or physics courses. It brought me safely through Calc I, II, and III, and has served me well through my undergraduate physics study. This calculator has been able to take virtually all integrals I have given it, which never fails to impress me.
My one complaint is that the graphing technology seems a bit outdated; it's certainly better than the TI-83 Plus, but not by that much. Graphics are basic black-and-white, and are rather coarse. A higher resolution screen and heftier processor would be a welcome addition, which is why I gave it 4 stars. However, I have yet to see a hand held calculator that can match this one's abilities and as such highly recommend it to anyone working with math beyond trig.
Customer Rating: Summary: Essential for Calculus Comment: This is absolutely essential for anyone taking a Calculus class. This is especially true for later on, such as in the later half of Calc 2 and all of Calc 3. After learning how to manually evaluate integrals and differentiate, as you move on to higher level concepts the 89 titanium can be used to do these manual tasks for you, allowing you to focus on the new material and allow you to practice more without wasting time on repetitive evaluations. I love this thing, and would not take Calc and Physics without it.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great deal!!! Comment: They were fast and was a lot cheaper than a lot of the other vendors. The product was used but in great shape just like they said it was. I would certainly buy from them again.
Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent Calculator Comment: I bought this calculator for my grads math and engineering courses and it works perfect. There are some many features which make this probably the best calculator on the market. Yes, now TI launched the Nspire and Nspire CAS, but to be honest, those calculator are far away yet from the Ti-89 Titanium in one of the most important thing: support (programs, applications, etc). I'd wait at least two years to see if TI give more support for the Nspire series, meanwhile I think the Titanium is a powerful machine with advanced functions (numerical and symbolic) and a very decent memory for most of engineering applications.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great Calculator Comment: I'm an engineering student, and this calculator is a MAJOR UPGRADE over a TI-83/TI-84. It can do so much more once you learn how to use it, and it has helped me on my calculus homework more times than I can count.
It is a must have for any engineering/science student.

Includes USB unit-to-unit cable, Connectivity Cable for other TI units and connection software, operating manual Doing complex calculations on a scientific calculator is much easier with the TI 89. Its large screen offers the ability to generate graphs that can illustrate your conclusions. It's especially helpful with statistic functions, such as regression analysis. The TI-89 Titanium includes all the built in functionality and power of the original TI-89. It has an increased amount of Flash ROM 500KB, quite powerful for a traditional handheld design. This is TI's most sophisticated calculator, with such features as 3D graphing, upgradable flash ROM, built-in assembly language programming, and a generous amount of user-available memory. It now includes a mini USB port. This portable symbolic, numeric, and graphing calculator is perfect for advanced mathematics and engineering applications for college and advanced coursework. Its built-in USB port makes data transfer ultra-convenient. Built-in Flash memory for archiving data(2.7MB) Finance tools, Organizer, Polynomial Root Finder, Simultaneous Equation Solver, and many more apps Fully upgradeable (electronically) through its Flash ROM chip (optional TI Graph-Link required) Computer Algebra System, differential equations, 2D-graphing and data analysis, 3D-graphing with rotations, linear algebra, interactive numeric solver, constants, unit conversions, statistical regressions Optional Assembler language Mathematical expressions appear on the display the same way as they are usually written in class or in published texts and academic journals StudyCards and Symbolic Math Guide for helping students learn more effectively Preloaded with Official AP Calculus exam review questions Built-in USB port for easy data transfer between handhelds - The TI Connect allows rapid data transfer to computers
